Wasp nest prevents shooting
« on: July 04, 2007, 03:46:58 PM »

Well I was gonna shoot today at the new place. I have a closed in porch that would make a nice little shooting area, hmmm to shoot out into the back yard. Will be nice when I get it all set up.... in the shade, covered so if it starts....I am not even gonna say the word lol. But anyways seems there has been some residents that have claimed sqautters rights out there on the back porch. Well I decided to be a welcome wagon and went out there with a broom stick handle to knock on the door of the sqautters to see if anyone was home. Well they were home and werent to happy about being disturbed. I went back into the house and watched them beat themselves against the window at which I was watching them through. Pretty interesting watchiing these kamikaze pilots actually.....and lemme tell yathey were POed when they couldnt hit their target. I watched them for about 30 minutes circling their hive and watching for any more intruders. One by one they went back in but they always had a scout outside flying around just making sure the dude with the broomstick handle wasnt coming back out there. Of course the next time I go back out there will be with a can of spray that I can get some distance between me and them. Kind of funny how a little flying bug no more than 3/4" can itimidate a grown man. But then again 45 times stung by an army of these buggers will make just about anyone aprehensive to say the least lol. I find them interesting though... very tactical little critters they are, they kind of remind me of our fighter sqaudrens we have for our country. The planes going out on missions and what not. And from previous experiences their attack is relentless they will not stop until the threat has left the area and sometimes not even then lol. Hmmm I remember hunting bear in the cascade mountains up in Wa. I remember the first bear I got was in my early 20's the thing was probably about 40 yards away. And I remember also thinking that I could get closer hehe.... did I? Nope I just took the shot from where I was and dropped him. The little bees I decided I could get closer and did. I dont think it was an intelligent move on my part although I did come away unscathed. Oh well I will win this little war probably tomorrow when the spray can artillery comes out hehe.

LOL that was just too funny. Well I havent gotten the spray can yet but I have been eyeballing them through the window and they are seeming to have a good time out there on the porch. If I wasnt afraid of catching the house on fire I would definately burn em but they are up on the ceiling of the porch so this isnt an option lol.

Ooooh sorry, you should have mentioned that....I would have suggested 64 packets of Taco Bell hot sauce as the cure:)

Ahaaaaa so thats the precise amount needed... you know I have been messin with the deadliness ratio of them little packets, I know 43 packets makes a cowbird do a funny dance towards the border..... but ya'll know how tough them little buggers are hehe. Ok Dan so 64 is the magazine capacity design phase for the new and improved Taco Bell hot sauce canon?Man I am gonna have to be making some more trips to the local TB here in Gainesville and try to stock up on some more ammo.....too bad they dont have an online store would make my life so much easier......

Use 3M #8088 spray glue.

It has a range of about 5 feet and if even a little gets on a flying wasp, as they struggle to get it off, just ties them up more. It will also seal any nests so they can't get out. Overspray can be a pain, but brakekleen get it off.  I guess I like to live dangerously, haha.
