Gamo Rear Sight Screws (shadow matic)
« on: July 07, 2006, 06:14:14 PM »
I am removing the rear sights from my shadowmatic and the rear screw of the rear sight seems pretty tight and goes deep.  Does this secure the barrel? Should I screw it back in? ( I did but it protrudes awkwardly).

When you screw it back in, does it go any further than when it was originally installed? If it does, then it probably is not being used to hold the barrel in.

The screw does NOT hold the barrel in the rifle. Just remove the screw if you want it does nothing but hold the sight adjusting wheel.

The pivot block bushing is what keeps the barrel from unscrewing.
