Scope Recommendations
« on: July 09, 2007, 03:41:59 AM »
I have a Gamo Hunter 220 being turbo tuned with GTX trigger mod by Charlie DaTuna. I use this rifle for varmit control. I am looking to replace the factory 4x32 BSA scope with a quality, variable power (4 -12 ?) large apeture scope for low light shooting. I want an A.O. model. I have been looking at Leapers. Can anyone recommend a good choice with correct mount for my gun in the $100 - $150 range ??
Thanks for the help!

Well, I put a Leapers 3-9X40 AO w/iluminated reticle on my Shadow 1000 and after 3000rds, it still holds a zero. I used an integrated (one piece) mount and for what I paid, about $110CDN for both, I am quite happy with it and would recommend it to anyone with a hard bucking springer. Hope this helps.

The 3x12 works well in lower light

I really like the 4x16x56 sidewheel Leapers too, though it seems scarce at the moment.
The IR versionmay bea bit more than you were wanting to spend
http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/accessory.pl?accessory_id=1809 but it is similar and also works well in lower light conditions.

The airgunBSA scopes I haveare clear in low light but this one has no mildots . . .
The 3x9 scopesprobably work well too, but I don't have any of those so someone elseshould give you therundown on them . . .

Gonnamention that Pyramyd Air has donereally well with any customer service issuesI've ever had, whichpersonally I appreciate.
