Nikko Scope on my CFX

I put a Nikko Stirling 3-9 X 40 AO air rifle scope on my CFX.  It came with a nice one-piece mount.  I have about 30 meters to shoot in my backyard.  When I initially mounted the thing it was extremely low even at close range.  I had centered the turrets by counting the number of clicks so I felt like I was midrange.  I ended up shimming the thing and was able to boresight at 30 meters.  Accuracy was great.  Today at lunch I tokk it over to a local range in Kokomo to see how it would do on the 50 yard range.  By the time I upped the elevation I was almost at the max on the turret.  When I got home tonight I took the scope off and started over with no shims.  Same thing.  I love the scope and would like to find a solution (low cost).  Nikko has a neat one-piece mount designed with a quick elevation adjustment just for air gunners.  It looks like it might work.  Anyone else had a similar experience.  I'm not too comfortable with this shimming deal.  Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Nikko Sterling on my S1K .20 and it works great. No problem with height adjustment with the Nikko mount that came with it. Have you tried another scope to see if that scope runs out of up as well?

Maybe try centering the scope out. Also check into the b-square adjustable mount after you center the scope. You can manually adjust with the mounts to get you close then fine tune it the last couple inches with the scope itself. Well worth the $50 pyramid sells them for.

It came with the basic BSA 4X32.  It worked ok, but I wanted something with a little bigger objective.  I put a Center Point scope on my RWS 850 and have had no problem.

I bought a 260-7 BKL mount from StraightShooters for my RWS 48 and it works perfectly.  It is a little bit expensive, but worth it in my opinion.

Oh you already haev an adjustable mount given by the pictures.. then you can ignore my post about buying one. But defenatly center your scope...

Hey, Jay, I had the same problem with my .177 CFX.  How much are you having to shim it?  I believe consensus opinion is 2 or 3 strips of camera film max.  I tried it all, adjustable mount, drooper mount, finally ended up shimming it.  I didn't like the Beeman adjustable, the adjustment screws kept coming loose.  I liked the BKL drooper, but it's only available in 1", I swithced to a 30 mm scope.  I had no problems, as long as eveything is squeaky clean, it should be fine.  Good luck.

I put a Nikko 4x12 on my CFX22 and had to put a drooper mount on mine. Love the scope.

Thanks Dave.  I think I am going to start over.  Last ime I shimmed the rear ring under the tube.  I fell it's safer to shim under the rear of the one piece mount.
