Scope Choice for CFX ?

I am wanting to upgrade the scope on my new CFX.
I am thinking of a variable power and a one pc. mount.
It will be used for target and hunting.

What do you suggest?

If $ is a factor then I would say the tasco golden antler 3-9x32AO, or center point 4-16x40 from wallyworld, if you don't mind the weight. Those are both good scopes that won't break the bank. I've got 2 of the tasco's and love them, been looking at the CP, but every time I pick it up I change my mind.

In that case go for one of the simmons master series, just make sure it is AR rated. They are light and have good glass. Gene will probably chime in with the right model#. The leapers are hit and miss, some have had good luck while others haven't. I got my tasco's when they were still $28 shipped, there now about $50, but worth every penny.

If leapers is your preference, I'd go with a 4-16x50 or 6-24x50.  They are both long and heavy scopes, so make sure they would fit and still let you access the loading port.  If you wanted to spend $25ish more you could get a leapers compact 'swat' scope thats something like 4-12x44 and a lot shorter/lighter AND has side wheel parallax adjustment.  I'm not sure if the compact 'swat' line is springer rated, but the other two are.

I found 13.5" to be just about max length for a CFX.  I had the Leapers 3-12x44 full size on mine, big and heavy, and I had issues with Leapers scopes in general, but a good match to the CFX.  I tried a Simmons 44 Mag, love the scope, it's currently on my Talon, but it was too long for the CFX.  I just picked up one of the Centerpoint 4-16x40's at Walmart for my B50, seems like an okay scope for $70 but I think it would also be too long for a CFX.  Leapers and Centerpoint are EXACTLY the same scopes, BTW, just a different name.  The Leapers compact 3-12x44 would certainly fit with no problem, but I've had problems with it.  I think the optics on the full size are far superior.  You might also consider the Nikko Stirling line of scopes.  The Platinum Nighteater 3-10x42 (?) is actually longer than 13.5", but because the front objective is slash cut, it fits fine.  Not a bad scope for the money, but not great.  Plus it's not available with a mil dot reticle.  The Air Kings do have a mil dot, but I don't really know anything else about them.

For a 1 pc. mount, you can't go wrong with the Accushot mounts.  Another real good choice, but more expensive, would be the BKL mounts.  I feel that the CFX benefits from a drooper mount, I'd use a BKL 260 D7.  Hope that helps, and good luck.

I have an CenterPoint 4-16X40 on my TF-89 .22  now.  It was too much scope for CFX .22, both in length, and range.  Loading was not pleasurable, as the front bell was very close to the breech block.  The .22 CFX doesn't have much reach either, for such a scope.  The TF does.

The CenterPoint would be a good choice, with a 1-piece mount on a high-powered magnum, break-barrel springer.  I've not yet had any trouble, and prefer the red/green illum. mil dot scopes now.

It was cheap at 59 bucks, but as some mentioned, there are better scopes out there.

It seems the Simmons Air Gun Scopes that I love so much are drying up.. Looks like Simmons is not specifically makeing any scopes for air rifles. If you can find a older Simmons ProAir scope they are fantastic and light weight as well. They also would fit your CFC just great. You may try looking at the following link. There are a number of good air gun scopes available. Also Peak is right about the Bushnell scope. I have one and it has held up great for me.

I can also support the recommendation for the Bushnell Banner 4-12x40. I have one mounted on a RWS/Diana 350 with several thousand shots through it without losing sight (using a Beeman 5039 one-piece mount, in case anyone interested). Supposedly Diana models 350 are harsh on scopes, so that is one positive point in favor of the Banner.  

Another positive point for the Banner: I did have to site the scope again recently -- my rifle fell 3' off a table and landed on concrete. Fortunately, the rifle's fall was cushion because the scope hit the concrete first!  :p  This combo weighs about 10 pounds, so that's quite a force to place on the scope with a fall like that.

I've now got about 100 more shots through the rifle since the Banner took that knock on concrete and everything is still sturdy.

The optics are very clear at each magnification level, and the scope can be adjusted down to 10 yards, which is a needed feature for an air gun scope.

I have both scopes and in my opinion the Tasco is much nicer..The clicks are much more positive on the Tasco and you dont have to fool around with locking rings on the turrents..The CP is also a pain when cranked up to 16x ,the center is very small and can be hard to find fast...close to the loading port as stated..

 BUT the CP/CFX combo will put the pellets where you want them..
