Honest Opinions on a Gamo
« on: January 15, 2008, 12:18:02 AM »
I'm another newbie here and fairly new to adult airguns. Just finished sighting in my new Varmint Hunter with the help of a friend. (Thanks for the Trigger CharlieDaTuna, it's awesome!).

Well, my friend is a current SWAT team member for our local PD and I have peeked his interest in airguns. We are wondering what your opinion on the Whisper/Whisper Deluxe is. I've searched the forums and can't seem to find any reviews.

That was just added yesterday, tokeep the reviews together. There is also a product review section at the top of the page for scopes-mounts, mods-tunes and airguns, but you may have to go back alittle ways to find what your looking for. Take a look at the library, alot of good info inthere.

Welcome to the GTA, Chris! Lotsa info and some dang talented people hereabouts. As Mike (Splash) says, you got questions, somebody here's probably got answers. If you end up doing any hunting with your Varmint Hunter, or if you end up with a Whisper, don't hesitate to post a report and pics on the Hunting Gate.

If you need help getting your shooting buddy hooked, bring him on over to the GTA as well. It's addicting ;~D

Bryan

PS- In what part of NC are you located?

I'm in Raleigh/Knightdale and got the Varmint Hunter mostly to replace my Crossman 2100 as a Varmint shooter around my chicken coop. I've never hunted in my life but I'm considering doing the required safety course and getting a license since the only thing you can hunt in NC w/o a license is Beaver. I have an interest in rabbit and squirrel but don't really want the meat/skins so I'm hesitant to take it up unless I can find a partner that will take my bags and actually use them.

ChrisS_NC you might consider this for your left over squirrels:

http://www.mepps.com/squirrel_tail_program/

that way you can feel a bit better they are not wasted. I too can't stand squirrels and the damage they cause, but I don't have a use for the body. However, I am an active fisherman, so this works out pretty good with mepps.

Wow! If I send in 1000 squirrel tails, I will have enough money for TWO Gamo Hunter 440's from Natchez and enough left over for some pellets!

LOL!

yeah, I know- not much of a deal.

I figured it out I needed to save like 109 tails to get twenty bucks..........sheesh. all I have around here are greys, no fancies. At least I can get some good new lures out of the deal.

I just thought I would mention it, since I too felt like it was a waste, even though I can't stand the things. Tearing up my @#!$ lawn........
