Gene-Royal .22 follow-up?
« on: August 19, 2006, 04:28:41 PM »
So how 'bout it?  You promised more info.  What I think we'd all like to know is where you bought it, what did it cost, and did you have to go through any special hoops to import it.  And of course, how does it shoot compared to a typical synthetic stock .177?  Are you going to have Bob do a tune?  And finally, was it worth the additional cost to get it here?  That assumes that it had to cost something extra importing it from the UK.  Looking forward to some answers.

Dave

I have been waiting on the new GRT III triggers. Also waiting on DaTuna to have time to go through it. Of course it weighs a bit more than the synthetic stock. I have only put a couple pellets through it so far. Cocking effort is slight due to the lighter spring. The wood is exceptional. I will post the pre and post chrony results when I get it back from DaTuna. He has been very busy lately filling the GRT III trigger orders for everyone plus he gets tune jobs regularly. I am patient...:)

I did not have to do anything different than I do here in the states to order the CFX Royal .22. Of course the shipping was a bit more but I think  I think the total was a bit less than buying a Hunter 1250 from the states.
They also sent along with the CFX Royal .22, a European heavy spring. DaTuna told me it was one of the finest springs that are made in Europe. We will see about that..:)

I bought it from: http://www.outdoorsman.co.uk

I dealt with a gentleman named, Myles Evans. He is a good guy and kept me informed the whole time.

The CFX Royal .22 was more of a "I gots to have one of them thingys" ..:)

I love shooting my other CFX Royal .177 and synthetic and actually prefer the heavier of the two to shoot paper with. Both of them have been Turbo Tuned and GTX triggers installed.

I hope this answers your questions....:) More to come after the Tune and Trigger Job..
