Need To Remove Discovery Bolt
« on: April 10, 2008, 01:50:36 PM »
Well, my new Discovery is here.  Went to clean the barrel.  Went in carefully from the bore, but can't go in far enough to turn the patch around without removing the bolt.  Removed the bolt handle and the end cap, but the little cocking piece is still in the way.  How do I get it out.  Where can I get a parts diagram?  That would help.

Well let's see . Since Crosman moved the small breech screw further back on the breech , it is necessary now to remove the breech and barrel assembly to get the bolt out . first you have to remove the safety by taking a small pick device and in the slot in the trigger guard behind the trigger , pull forward on the spring and push the safety out ; this is going to allow you to remove the action from the stock without damage. Once out, unscrew the bolt handle. then remove the small breech screw , the rear breech screw and the barrel band allowing the barrel assembly and breech to be removed . BE CAREFUL not to loose your transfer port and seal. Make note of the position of the transfer port , one end is deeper than the other . then you can push out the rear plug and the bolt allowing you to clean the barrel from the rear . A lot of trouble if you ask me . I would use some type of pull through from the breech end , unless you just like to take things apart like some of us do. kirby

My pleasure to help if I did. The changing of the position of the breech screw , solved one problem of the pellet hanging up on the screw hole, but it created more if you need to disassemble the rifle. kirby
