NCWood on Ebay
« on: April 24, 2008, 02:59:52 PM »
Just the facts : I ordered a block of Osage orange wood from NCWood off Ebay and Emailed the guy before I sent payment through Paypal and requested he ship it to my stock maker to save me a shipping charge . He replied and thanked me for providing the shipping address. When he shipped , he ignored my request and shipped it to me using my address off his payment from Paypal instead . I sent him an email and told him of his mistake and he said it wasn't his fault, that he had shipped it to the address I provided . I then posted a negative feedback score on Ebay , only stating that he had shipped it to the wrong address. He got mad and sent me a nasty email and said he would no longer do business with me for my giving him what was actually a neutral score , but he considered it to be a negative score. Today Brian , the guy who is making my custom stock for my AA Carbine , emailed me and told me he wouldn't recommend using the piece of wood. He said when he cut into it , it was wet (not seasoned correctly) . It had been sealed with wax before curing. I might add the piece was nothing like the picture he had posted on Ebay either . The one he showed had a nice grain , this was a plain piece of wood. Brian also said when he let the piece he cut off dry ; it started cracking . Totally unusable . So, what started to be a good deal at $17 for the piece , cost me another almost $20 in shipping , for a total $37 for a worthless piece of wood . It might make a pretty door stop. Buyer beware. kirby
