Hey, Ed,

Read my original post!  I specifically said, "use lead shotgun shot, like a dead blow hammer is filled with".  Looks like my silly idea isn't so silly after all :-).  Someone thought it was worth moving back to the top.  Thanks!

Dave

Sorry Dave, I just forgot seeing it. Must be my meds :) :)

I went back, and there it was. I guess it lost itself on me, as it was a dense message, with lots of stuff in it and things began to melt together.

I'm a fan of inertial dampening too, so it fell out of my head.

The Shadow weighs bout the same as the CFX now with the sand  & shoots better it also absorbs better than any wooden air rifles i have used i wont be changing it & a heavier gun only aids in accurcy as for it being to heavy to carry  round for hunting na not even i could easily triple it and be ok. :)

You must mean the CFX Synthetic. When I get my new .20 cal barrel and put it on the new S1K, I may experiment with that idea Damage. Honestly I prefer a lighter rifle but as long as when it is done it does not weigh 9 lbs....:)

You must be a young corn fed good ol boy, Damage...:) ...:) Built big with strong shoulders... he he he....

I went down to the local Ace Hardware store with the mind to buy some silicone gell to put inside the stock of my Shadow.  The silicone is light weight so I decided instead to try a couple of tubes of Butyl Rubber instead.  It weighs 10 ounces per tube.  The Shadow takes about 1 3/4 tubes.  So that means I have added about a pound to the butt of the gun.  Which is fine with me as I think the Shadow is butt light anyhow.
I cut a patch off an old shot bag and used it for a plug for the hole by the trigger, put the tube in a caulking gun and filled up the stock.  The additional weight should reduce recoil, thus reducing wear and tear on the scope and mounts.  Any of you physics majors feel free to correct me, but the additional weight should also add a few fps to the pellet velocity also.
