CFX (.177) and CPHP pellets?
« on: May 19, 2008, 04:56:26 AM »
Is thre anyone out there using .177 CPHPs in their CFX.  I find that these pellets have to be seated or pushed into the bore a sort distance in order to shoot properly.  Seating a pellet is difficult in my CFX because of the loading port design.  Has anyone figured out a way to do this?

Odd. I don't have that problem at all with my whisper. I just stick 'em in there and go.

CPL's and CPHP's in my .177 CFX require a little "push" into the breach for them to seat correctly otherwise when I close the loading port the end of the pellet skirt gets sliced off a bit. It's no big deal though, I've gotten used to just using my index finger to push em in.

Hey Ron,
When I first got mine it was a pain untill I figured out how to get my big finger off in there to get it to seat.  I just use my fingernail to get it to seat properly, it did take a lil practice to git er done tho, but I think I finally mastered it tho.  Just keep practicing it and eventually it will come natural.  Good luck and let us know how it goes.

The Whisper is a break barrel....so it's easy to just put the pellet in.  The CFX is an under lever....and their pelet loading is different.  I've read a few comments from members here that say loading a CFX is abit harder/challenging......

I use CP Heavy's exclusively with excellent results. Any other pellet just doesn't group as well for me, with my particular CFX.

Playing with:
