Thanks Howie, that’s a temptation I will try to ignore. Just spent some cash on an 850 and some goodies to go with it. So now I have to repeat the following mantra:

I don’t need another springer - I don’t need another springer - I don’t need another springer

I think the TF-97 and QB36-2 are the same gun. They will both need some TLC, but that's half the fun.

I think your right I'll bet their the same gun something like a upgrade from  b3 with a better underlever lock and a better trigger.

NOPE! It is NOT a QB36-2.
« Reply #5 on: June 19, 2008, 01:29:45 PM »
It is a QB36, which is similar in design but smaller and lighter. And not as powerful. Kinda like the difference between the B1 and the B2.

The TF99 is the QB36-2.

Thanks for the clarification Vince. I've got 99 in .22 and it's a power house, of course CDT did his magic on it a few years back.

I won't buy another

The tolerences are hit or miss {at best}and out of the 5 that I got, 4 missed, with flying colors. After ALOT of work, I got 3 of the 4 bad ones backtogether and 2 would actually group as long as I used very oversize pellets.
`
One is still in pieces with ALOT of work left to do on itafter working on it for several dozen hours already. Compression tube is out of round and has a terrible wave pattern inside of it. Piston is way off center, and it'll probably be easier to weld together a new one.
`
The other ones I just gave away, because my blood pressure would go up when I looked at them.
I'd ratherplink with nicely tuned Diana or FWB anyway . . .

I don't think I would either, but this one is special. It's a TF-99 Bob got to see what could be done with them, it's real sweet, but it takes ALLOT of work to get it there.
