My on going project. PICS
« on: September 05, 2008, 07:54:48 PM »
Hi all  4 weeks ago I came across some trigger mods for a Winchester and my B11-1s being a copy of them I could not see why iy
would not work on the B 11. So I carried out the mods to the letter and the trigger was a lot better. " But I have a real prob I'm NEVER happy"
So I started looking a bit harder at how the whole trigger works and desided that with a few changes in the ratios it could be a lot lighter
with less travel. Now I'm very lucky that I have some very Hi tec gear at my finger tips- Eg  lasers/turret punchs/3 axes CNC machine centres and the list goes on.
So I stared of with some new laser cut stainless steel trigger blanks " I scaned the B11 plastic trigger on a 3D mapping table and  while on the computer screen
I changed the ratios so it gave me 3 veryants of the standard trigger then exported the DFX files to the laser and had it cut 2 of each.
I have installed the one with biggest change it works but it is so light its unusable. So tommorrow I will try the others.

If you take a close look at the pic Very close look you will notice the diffrents in the trigger hole placement & angles.
And the internet mods that started it all.

Nice work Peter and keep us posted, on your future findings. Since you have the tools at your disposal, how about making, a longer sear? Also a trigger blade, with a double hump at the sear contact points, to act as a 2stage. I think that would make a very light safe trigger. What's your thought's on that?

Hi yes a 2 stage would be nice and thanks splash I was looking at how to make it a 2 stage never thought of the 2 hump idea.
Think I will need to draw it all up in the cad so I can have the system working on screen " A job for Steve on Monday" He's a damm site better
than me with the cad

Your welcome Peter. I used to have a Win 1000x with that same trigger and thought of doing it then, but didn't have the tools. Also a lighter blade return spring helps allot.

Hi.. Just with a quick look at the pic. maybe a square end so that the sear can ride over the 2 corners.
#1 would be the 1st sage / #2 the 2nd  with a slight concave between them.

I was thinking more like this, with another sear also. This way there would be more leverage, for the first stage. It would probably be a longer pull, but should be safe and light.

Yer thats not a silly idea either..just had a look at the gun. The relateinship of the componets
in this drawing is not quite correct with the gun. A small jig the duplarcates the sear/trigger placement
of the gun mite be the go so you have a visal of trigger / sear movement.
