New user to this forum and to airguns. This IS a wonderful place to be! Its massive,,still learning how it all works (this forum and springers). Thank you all for manifesting this wonderful place. Looks like a lot of fun.
I have chosen the 61 for beginning. I saw someone mention the 61 somewhere on this forum about how he was going to lube and tune his new 61 (which is what I want to do- but I couldn't find that thread again: and using the search engine here failed to show results). So I figured this was the right place to post.
I have taken the forearm (?) and butt off, drifted out the hinge pin for the cocking arm,,,,but I couldn't get the end piece off. I pondered it a while, searched the net a while and put it back together for now. Being my first attempt at anything like this I was a little scared as well for fear the end cap may come flying off with my getting hurt or breaking something.
My questions are:
What is the order for disassembly? (I'm guessing the trigger mechanism is first)
Is the piston difficult to extract? Any pointers for this?
Do I need to build a spring compressor? (I did see the plans of several here)
Perhaps there is an article in here I haven't seen yet to help with specifics?
Thanks in advance
