TX200'S first kill
« on: October 08, 2008, 11:37:12 AM »
I spied him from the kitchen window.. He was galloping across the yard at a steady pace... I emediatly went for the new weapon... QUICKLY LOADED a predator in her and was at the back window within seconds..  He was halfway across the yard and was making tracks for the back fence.. Time was not in my favor. That sucker was mooving, so I hoisted the weapon and let out a shrill whistle.. He stopped in his tracks for a split second and that was my moment.  Just by his size I knew it would be a difficult shot, but the tx was up to the chore..  I zoomed in on his fusebox and let her rip..  Whammo right where i was aiming a partial frontal head shot..  he emediatly went into violent convulsions and the death dance lasted for at least 5 minutes.. what a tough critter...
I causiously approched him reloaded, [ I learned that from Shadow ] and gave him a good poke.  thats when he started his quiver stuff again.  I was about to put another predator in him but he expired shortly after..

you should take a stroll out to the hundred acre woods...you never know what quarry you'll find.  good shooting, those things are stubborn.
Go git \'em!

John, I think the TX-200 is one of the nicest looking springers made. I would own one already if it was not for the weight issue. The TX-200 weighs over 9 lbs without a scope and that is way to heavy for me. There are alot of air rifles that I would love to own butthey are just to heavy. And beleive me I would of bought a TX-200 a long time ago. I have had the opertunity to work with CDT on tuning them and I must say they are an excellent engineered springer.

Dave, I think you misunderstood me. I have worked with CDT on several TX 200 tunes..:) But if I did open her up the first thing I would do would be lube her up properly and of course look things over very carefully...:)

but, when you pay that much for a rifle, isn't it lubed good already?...i do wonder what the tune kit does for the gun though...have you or bob put one of the kits in one of these guns??(its the tx200 survival kit.)...i'm assuming it would just be a longevity of parts, right?
