The RWS 54 is a recoilless, side-lever rifle. By floating the action on rails, RWS eliminates most of the rifle's recoil and significantly reduces the amount you feel. It also enhances accuracy, because the pellet exits the barrel before spring vibration is transmitted to it. Button-rifled steel barrel, which is extremely smooth with tolerances of ± .0002", also helps provide superior accuracy. The 54 has a Monte Carlo beech stock with a raised cheekpiece. For better control, RWS added checkering to the grip and forearm. This rifle can be used for field target, plinking, hunting and target shooting.
