new toy
« on: January 18, 2009, 01:37:22 AM »
I am in the market for a new toy. The chinese springers are catching my eye. What is the hot n skinny on the best one for plinking and hunting. May occasionally call for raccoon removal. Looking for it in .22. Leaning towards the B 28. Thanks, John

That or the B26 would both be worth a look. Mike Melick (http://airgunartisans.com/flyingdragon/) is the name to know.

The TF-89 or the Beeman branded version called a RS2 are strong in 22, stronger than the B26. I've been getting 810 fps with beeman Silver Bear .22 after a nice clean and lube, using all factory parts. Nice trigger, no need for an aftermarket one, and a little heft to is making it not so hold sensitive. Some may take that as a drawback. Plus you can pick it up at Wal-mart for about $130.
I came into this world with nothing, and I still have most of it left!

B 28A .22cal .... she is definitly hot n skinny. I bought my B 28A .22cal about a month ago from Mike Melick, put about 500 pellets thru her and I am still working on her hold. She is ahold sensative air rifle. I can group at 10m 5/8 inches, not bad for a person with 20/400 eyesight. I do not own a chrony yet but working on that. She packs a wallop, with a recoil to boot. For me she is a keeper.......Bill
