Hmmm......I was thinking about getting a Gamo pellet trap until I saw this thread.

You all saved me some frustration and hard earned cash.

Thanks and happy upcoming Thanksgiving.
This really is a good place to be.

Especially about using low-velocity wadcutter or semi-wadcutter (about 150ft-lbs) out of my .38 Colt. Power-wise, that's in the same ballpark as a .22LR.

I pulled a 7 foot piece of 2x6 out of my attic and hung several sheets of 5 bullseye rifle targets onto it at differing heights. It's about 20 feet acroos the hall in my upstairs bedroom. I shot about 500 rds last night and shooting .177 pointed gamo mag hunters I didnt have a single ricochet even robin hooding numerous pellets. They're all buried about 1/4 inch in the wood. When it starts wearing down I'm going to just turn it upside down and/or flip it to some fresh wood. I'm prob going to get one of these traps or run some duct seal putty as Tcups pictured. Might just clip magazines behind the paper targets to catch the pellets and save the wood.

Looking at a few more to add to my collection

I bought one of these bullet boxes from Natchez a few weeks ago & really like it. I don't think a pellet gun is going to hurt this thing. It is built like a tank.
The only thing that I wish I could change on it is that it wouldn't spit pellet fragments out with every shot. I tried putting sand in the bottom of it & that seemed to stop the lead fragments from flying out but now it spits out sand everytime a pellet hits it & makes a heck of a mess on the floor.
I'm gonna try a couple of other things that I read about here on the forum to see if I can get that problem to stop.

I've been shooting my Gamo Shadow into a Gamo trap for a while now and it never comes inside and is still just fine.  This same rifle is destroying the little hanging/swinging animals that came with the Beeman Pellet Trap and I don't shoot closer than 25 yds.

I built mine out of some oak I had around but you can get the same type of trap from Archer's or make one yourself just take a look.  put 1 or 2 layers of duct seal from the depot 1 layer works for 177, 1000 fps good and mine is about 2 years old and I've replaced the duct seal a couple of times all ready and it still hasn't got to the 1 inch oak back yet.howie
