Beeman Dual-caliber breakbarrel on sale
« on: May 06, 2009, 03:24:15 AM »
Just noticed that Big 5 has the Beeman dual-caliber breakbarrel with 4X32 scope and case on sale for $150 until May 9. The ad doesn't give the model number, and the picture isn't clear, so I don't know if it has the direct-sear trigger or the much better 2-stage adjustable one.

$124 at Wal-Mart

Hmmm, they go for $124 at all of the Wal-Marts I've seen in the Memphis area.  No sale or anything, that's the regular price.  It's the RS2 model also.  Do you have any Wal-Mart's around you?

Sure do. But I don't set foot in ours unless it's absolutely necessary--there have been gang-related incidents there as of late.

Ouch, that sucks!

We've got several to choose from around here, so I can always go to the next one down the road if this one is too dangerous.  Luckily, the Collierville Wal-Mart is pretty pleasant, as far as that goes.  My wife hates them all equally :-)  She much prefers Target because their stores are cleaner and her car suffers fewer parking lot dents.  Too bad that Target is so weird about guns and whatnot.  Sigh.

How would you guys compare these to a B26?

I think that they sell these in Texas at a chain store called Academy.  They are often more competitive on prices than Wally World surprisingly.  I'll have to take a look.  I can live w/o a scope but the dual barrel thing does appeal to my cheap side.  Ovious dvantage of buying locally  would be that if that there is something  fuandamentally flawed both Wal Mart and Academy have good return policies.  I took one of their  rod and reel combos to the coast and it showed signs of rust.  They gave me money back no questions asked even though I couldn't find the receipt.
