Heavy Pellets with a Hammerli Titan

I have been playing around with my .177 Titan I got back from a friend's son. It twangs a lot more now than before he got it. I'm trying to see which pellets shoot the best and I tried several pellets in the 8.4 gr range. Then I tried CP Ultra Magnum 10.5 gr - the twang was gone but with a tad more kick.  Can anybody explain why and whether I should or should not be using these pellets? Thanks!  Terry

Terry the gerenral consensus but not believed by all is the heavy pellets were reserved for the PCP rifles. Id you look in the libray there is a Document on ideal pellet weights for each caliber. The spring twang is from a loose fitted guide and lack of tar on the spring or the spring may in fact be broke.
