RWS Panther Pro Compact, Beeman R9
« on: May 31, 2009, 09:48:08 AM »
Well after a long drought in the usual places I look for good deals, AoA finally updated their used page and gave me some Bargain Gate fodder:

RWS Panther Pro Compact, .177, Like New In Box Condition:  $195  **I'm not sure if that includes the scope, though LNIB condition would suggest so; but best to check with them.

and  a Beeman R9, .20, with Banner 4-12x scope, in Excellent condition, $295  **I don't know if that scope is any good, maybe someone can chime in..?

there are also some PCPs they have listed, but I'm not a darksider, so I don't know if those prices are good.
Yea, though I walk through the garden in the shadows of pests,
I will fear no squirrel: For thou art with me;
thy scope and thy trigger, they comfort me.

WHAT!? A practically new R9 with a bushnell banner 4-12 scope for $295 and you didnt buy one. AHHHH! I wish i had money. I would buy that in a heart-beat. The banner is one of the best bargain scopes out there. If i dont get a disco for my birthday im gonna be all over that.

Yep I looked at that one too even though I'm really more interested in .177 right now, but wondered what "excellent condition" means.  I just got an unfinished Macarri R9 Tyro stock last week but have no action for it yet.

Problem with me is I'm not sure what I want to get next yet.  I'd ideally like a nice R7 or HW30S in mint condition and good price.  But I'd consider others it they're really good deals.  On my some-day list, if I ever get the extra cash, are HW55 or similar target oldies with Tyro stocks, Diana 75.  But for the right deal a R9 or HW50 would be OK too but I'd probably detune it, since I already have an AA410 for power if I need it.  But I'm not a hunter LOL and have to shoot in the suburbs so don't have much chance to take advantage of long distance power.  I like others too like the AA and HW underlevers but they're just too heavy for offhand, but a bargain basement price would tempt me, even if I'd probably won't be shooting a heaving gun much unless it's a 10-meter target gun.

I'll probably head out to the CT show this weekend and see what's there, hopefully walk away with a new toy : )

You don't have to worry with me getting it , I tried . I received an email from AOA that the R9 had already been gobbled up by someone else. . Oh well; that's alright , I really wanted another .177cal anyways. kirby

Yea ; I looked this afternoon and the RWS34 was gone too as was the HW97K in 20cal. I didn't mention the HW97 , thinking I would pick it up if the R9 GF was gone , but somebody got to them first. kirby

I was also slow in noticing AoA had updated their site, had fallen out of my usual 5 minute daily check. Sorry guys, could've given you a leg up on the Arizona Bandit. (kinda like that as a nickname for our mysterious buyer)
