Ping-Peak Chick / Gene_SC and other HW50s owners
« on: June 11, 2009, 09:16:08 AM »
I know a few of you have the HW50S and I have read all of the old threads about it that I can find. I was hoping that some of you might update your thoughts on this rifle for me. I used the 15% off Pyramyd Air coupon to order an HW50s in .177. Does anyone have a manual on this model in .pdf that they could post or e-mail me? Thanks for your feedback.

I really can't provide any update beyond stating that my HW50 is in a dead tie with my BSA Lightning XL as being my favorite springer rifle. I have a Bushnell Trophy 4-12 x 40 AO on mine in a BKL 260 D7 mount. My HW 50 is brilliantly accurate with both CPHPs and JSB Exacts.
The current stable, (arsenal, quiver?): BSA Lightning XL .177, BSA Sportsman HV .22, BSA Ultra .177, CZ634 .177, Daystate Harrier X .177, TAU 200 Senior .177, HW 97 .177, HW 50s .177, HW 30 .177, RWS 92 .177, Gamo 126 MC Super, Gamo Big Cat .177, AR2078A, QB78 .177, Quest 1000 .177, Beeman SS650 .177., Beeman P17 .177.

I really can't provide any update .

I thank you. No update also means nothing negative has popped up so that is good to know. I take it you had some droop issues if you used the D7. How bad was it?

My HW50 had some barrel droop, not severe. I happened to have a BKL 260 D7 to put on it. Some will have the droop, some will not. I wouldn't worry about it until you get yours and see how it shoots.

Some will have the droop, some will not. .

I am thinking of leaving this one for open sight shooting if my eyes are up to it.

I have read to many threads about the accuracy of the HW 50. I just could not get it off of my mind and the 15% off coupon code didn't help either. I just had to do it. LOL
Did your 97 arrive yet? If so, how is it? I sure do like mine and I'm guessing you will to.
