I am relatively new to these GTA / AG forums (lurking for a few months - a couple of posts), but was curious to hear some feedback / thoughts from all of you on the Sheridan Super Streak .22 .

Thinking of adding this to my fledging arsenal (.177 850 Airmagnum, Gamo Whisper Deluxe, .22 QB78D, Gamo Shadow Express, Beretta CX4 Storm) for target / small game-varmints. It seems like a pretty good package when considering quality / power / price point, but I would like to hear from some who own have owned or shot this rifle.

I thoroughly enjoy and appreciate all of the information available and shared on these boards, and will welcome your thoughts / feedback.

Thanks,

Frank

I've done some shooting with the "SS" and while it is indeed powerful  I personally find it to be much to long to wield comfortably.  You can't appreciate just how long this rifle is until you actually pick one up and shoulder it.... just not my cup of tea so to speak.   Others will no doubt have different opinions but that's mine....

Frank,,,, I just deleted your duplicate post and moved your first one here to the Airgun Gate....

As for the "SS".......  I know there are a few GTA members who have the "SS" and really like it so I'm sure they'll chime in and give you their perspective.  I really just found it to be much to long for me, it just felt "uncomfortable" and a bit heavy....... It is powerful though  ..

If your looking for a true magnum rifle for small game hunting I'd suggest the RWS-48.  I have one and love it...  Incredible power, deadly accurate, easy to sling since it's a side cocker, very comfortable and just the right length to easily carry and manuever with in the woods.  It is a bit heavy, no doubt about that, but slap a sling on it and it's a breeze to carry it all day in the woods......  just a thought.....

BTW.... forgot to add.......   WELCOME TO GTA... NICE TO HAVE YOU WITH US  :)

Jeff

welcome frank ,i agree with jeff .i had the rws 48.22 and the power and accuratcy is awsome ,i havent come across too many comments on this rifle but seems interesting.do a little more h.w before spending, but the rws is a sure thing ,heavy but the weight is even through out the whole rifle which gives u a steady hand ,just my experince and 2 cents.good luck frank...

the super streak is a really nice shooter once you tweak it in . i agree it WAS way to long so i chopped off 4 in off the barrel its turned down under the muzzle brake any way. for about 4 in. so that came off. it was pretty darn accurate to begin with . but way to hold sensitve to shoot the heavy lead wich is what it wants to eat with that large power plant. shortining it up really helped, way more balanced, and more accurate groups are nice and tight. i also put a lot of other work into it to get it to my liking. didn't really need to be done i'm just like that. for 300.00 bucks not to bad includes glass thats pretty nice to . the 48 is an awesome gun but you'll have 450.00 into it to get it to you're doorstep.  i would just get the 350 mag if i were to do it all over again. just my two cents...
benji superstreaks .22, both fully tuned and modded with seals and springs and custom internals. hammerli titan .177, fully tuned and custom shroud. and the addiction continues...

Hi Frank, have an SS, and an RWS 48. I like both. They are both hard hitters. No matter what though, if you want the guns to truly work for YOU, you'll have to tweak both. Each gun has it's own great points. Each gun likes it's own ammo. In my opinion, when you buy a gun, new or used, the first thing you do is take it down. Then make it the way YOU want it. Also, you'll find things you don't like and will change them to be the way you want them. Then the gun works for you. Good Luck and have fun with them. Lee

hey frank... is gabe. why dont you come over to cobra and shoot the SS to see if you like it. I love that rifle against all the naysayers. It is not a rifle to walk around the woods in, but give me a little clearing, 2 sandbags and a view to my favorite tree and I can snipe all day with it at long distances. And i mean long! i dont doubt that the SS with crosman heavies could do a squirrel at 75+ yards. and that is in .177. I chronoed the ones at the shop and can tell you not to expect 1500 FPS!!!!!. more like 1230 with premiers, 1170 with FTs (8.8 gr) and a bit over 1000 with heavies (that is the one to go for!) Expect a boatload of recoil so there is a learning curve. But it is an acquired taste. I would love to have one tuned and see what it can really do... And yes, .22 is probably the way to go.

Thank you very much to everyone for your detailed and considered feedback. I appreciate all of you taking some time to share your experiences and opinions about the SS and the comparable RWS 48.

Gabe, thanks so much(yet again) for your input, my friend. You can bet that being less than a 10 minute ride from Cobra that I will always avail myself of every opportunity to be able to try any AG I am considering for purchase ( and as many as I can otherwise - thanks to you, GABE!!!! you got me hooked!).

I will be stopping by Cobra sometime in the next few days, and will try to develop my own initial opinions. Hope to see you there, Gabe. Once again, thank you everyone. For those of you who are local to NY Metro area, I am another LI'er, so I hope to get the opportunity to meet you and shoot with you sometime soon.

Be Safe, Have Fun, Shoot Well.

Best,

Frank
