Broke in buddy's B3
« on: February 21, 2007, 01:18:28 PM »
A great day yesterday, snow's all but gone , almost fifty ,almost. A friend of mine, I'm getting him into air rifles dropped off his B3 for me to tune it and put a camo paint job on it. After tunning it and putting a base coat on I thought I would drive over to his place and have him test shoot it and get his camo idea's. We were in his back yard, he's shooting and smiling when I noticed a bunny in the brush pile about 11 yrds behind us mmm. I looked at him and pointed to the brush pile, if you want to test it, test it on that.! He looked at me in disbelief, is that a rabbit.? Go ahead guy, your first kill. He shook his head and said that he dosn't think he can hit it but would like to see how the B3 work's on game. Show me he said. No problem,I chambered a Gamo hunter put the sight's on em BAM!. Guy's we have another addict on our hands, NOW he want's to go hunting hehe. I told him he needs more time just shooting it, getting the feel. I had to take it back home to finish the camo job, he's called already, is it finished yet. ANOTHER HAPPY AIR GUNNER IN TRAINING. :) hunting Ed

My back is finally starting to ease up.  I still have to take it easy for awhile, but at least I'm able to get up and move around the house and yard now.  My doctors, and the doctor at work, put me out of work for another 3 weeks, but the good news is that  I'll be able to sit at my shooting bench in the back yard and get in some  target shooting.   I have a couple of rifles that need sighting in, my new B26-2 included.

The other good thing is that the temps here have been in the high 40's for the past 2 days and they are saying we should have similiar weather for the next few days at least.  I don't know if it's the warm weather or not but for the past 2 days I've actually been seeing some  starlings at our backyard feeders.  I'm gonna use some of my camo netting and set up a small shooting blind so I can snipe some starlings from the backyard.  Hopefully some pigeons will stop by to say hello also :)

I was gonna ask you,,, how do those B-3's shoot?  I was just looking at them and was thinking for $19.99 what have I got to lose if I buy one to play around with.

Jeff

I can say that mine have been good little shooter's and after I tuned it even better, alot smoother. and as you can see it does take game. Mine shoot's nice group's good enough to put that shot where I need to. For $20 it was worth it for me. Ed

Thanks Ed, I may think about ordering one to play around with.  I want to order another B26-2, this time in .177, but I'm really trying to be "good" and not buy any more guns,,,,, at least for awhile, but I can feel that irresistable urge building inside me and I don't know how much longer I can hold off hittin that "order" button.

Know what you mean, my B26-2 is waiting on a barrel shroud from Rich so Im going to mount the scope and shroud all at once. Getting itchy to take it out for it's paces though. Ed

With a bright green undercoat like that I'd of thought the rabbit would see it and run for the hills.

Nice shooting Shadow.  Looks like a plump bunny. :)
