Hey Dennis, sounds like you are wondering "just how safe is this gun if it's cocked and loaded even though the "safety" isn't working" ? If that's the case then you should know that it's as safe as it would be even if the safety is working.Generally speaking. If you are in a scenario where other folks are sharing your gun, or if you are prone to being really clumsy with your gun and generally have an unsafe attitude in your normal handling of your guns, then naturally your risks go up. If however you are always careful where the muzzle gets pointed and you keep your finger off the trigger till it's closing time you won't hardly be at risk of an accidental discharge. Some airgun shooters count themselves lucky when they don't have to deal with automatic safeties and things that go "click" everytime they want to take a shot. If you ever over hone a trigger to where it's a "thought" trigger then disregard this info as a little bump might set it off. I'm not advising you to ignore safe gun handling principles but rather to count your blessings that you don't have to push off your safety. But if it bothers you follow CDT to the "T".
