Almost first kill
« on: February 28, 2007, 12:39:05 PM »
Wish I had something for real to show and tell, but almost got a first and second kill before I found out my spring was broken. For the first time since I started shooting in the back yard some doves landed while I was out shooting, 1 in a tree, the others on the ground. Took a crack at one on the ground;  a feather came off and it flew away. I figured a near miss at 35 yds. The other was up in a tree about 25' high and 20 yds away. Once again, a feather came off the side of it's neck, it ruffled it's wings and sat there for about 5 minutes before flying away. Funny thing, I saw the pellet bounce off! That's when I pulled the stock off and looked. Soon maybe.
