Chrony #'s for Gamo Hunter Anyone?
« on: October 01, 2009, 02:33:37 AM »
Greets all.
Just got a Hawke scope (4-16x40) with the MAP6 reticle and would like to try my hand
at using their ballistics software.

Problem is, I'm not sure what kind of numbers I'm seeing from my gun.
Gamo Hunter Pro .177 with RWS Superdomes.

I've gone through quite a few scopes with this thing and I'm hoping I luck out with the
Hawke.  This gun seems to like the heavier pellets though I've been told thats not so
great for the spring.

I've settled on the 177 superdomes as pellet of choice in this gun, they get me nice
groups (the Gamo Rockets do well too, but they're more expensive)

Anyway.. anyone have a guess at what kind of pellet speed I might be looking at?
The gun is still in good condition, probably only about 1000 to 1500 shots through it.
No tune.  Just a gold trigger.

Thanks
Tony

My Hunter Elite chronographed at around 860 fps out of the box with 8.3s.  After a tune and lube, retaining stock internals, it is consistent at around 880.  Still twangs but is quite accurate.
