i have a heavily modified QB-78 if you're interested.   it fuels from a paintball tank, shoots about 850 fps w/ 8 grain .177 pellets.     go here for some pix :   http://www.raneair.webs.com .

i've only recently started messing w/ .22 cal.   now that the weather has cooled, i'm hunting a lot more.    .22 works much better for that.   i have a .20 cal and i'd be favoring that, but it's too hard to get barrels and ammo.   do you know of anywhere i could get a .22 cal (or a .20 cal) barrel for a QB-78 or 79 ??

I would think you could get the barrel from Archer Air Guns. Worth a try.

I gotta tell you, i own a home tuned 78 in .22 and a home tuned 79 in .177, and as a hunter they do behave differently. the 79 loves crow mags and will drop a squirre at 45 yard while holding the cross hairs on it's fusebox... and it will make little ragged holes at 30 yards... The 78, it shoots at 540 fps and has done a rabbit at 40 yards, but even with head shot (the pellet was lobed at it... i saw it's entire flight...) it required a back up shot. since then it has being relegated to no more than 25 yards. at that range is absolutely deadly on squirrels and rabbits. One shot is al it takes. Do not dismiss the qb79 in .177... i would not have mine in any other caliber...

i was REALLY wondering about all of that.   my .177 is getting 840-850 fps w/ cpl's.....i was thinking i may get over 700 fps w/ a .22 barrel.   how fast does your .177 shoot ??   you'd better just email me.   we're digressing from sales.   ranedouglas@yahoo.com .   thanx for the experience.
