Wes,

Good job.  This morning I said he still had it and at about noon today I started to think about it and sent him an email saying "I'll take it".  It was just too good a deal to pass on.  He answered back right away that he thought it was sold but I would be second in line.  It appears that was you!

Great deal on a nice rifle.  No they're not high end rifles but I tell you mine outshoots my TX!  No kidding honest!  Like you the BC was my first tune.  I learned a lot and I was thinking I'd like to do it again (and do it righ this time).  I used a JM e3650, CDT trigger and Apex small seal.  AWESOME is all I can say.  I have a couple Tarantula springs here and thought I'd try one of those on the BC.  Guess I'll have to jump next time.

Please let us know how it goes.  Feel good that you got an awesome deal.  The way I look at it you paid about $35 for the rifle after you figure $32 for the trigger and $18 for shipping!

Andy Wong aka larspawn

P.S.  It is still abnormally warm here in MI so I went out and shot these 5 shot groups.  The one on the left are CPHPs and the right CPLs at 15 yds off hand.  Not my best but you can see what she's capable of. I have somewhere here a 20 yard grouping of the TX beside the BC.  BC won!  I'll post if I find it.

Wow, those are some great groups! As soon as I sent him the payment for the Big Cat, I hopped on over to Maccari's site and placed an order for a lube kit, small Apex, and the e3650. I didn't really consider the Tarantula because I didn't want to jeopardize accuracy with a beefy spring. However, I would be really interested in finding out what your results are when you get around to it. Did you check out the Varmint Hunter on the yellow? It's only $90 with a GRTIII and I think it's still available.

Wes,

Good move.  My velocity dropped to 820-840 with CPHPs but it really smoothed out.  I think this is optimum for the BC.

Oh for reference I am in the process of sorting out a chopped Quest that I dropped a Tarantula into.  It was shooting CPHs at 1150!  Yikes!  CPHs dropped down to 880 fps!

Yes, I saw that and it was all I could muster to withstand the urge.  This is a deal with the $32 gold trigger.  I have been shooting mine more now and it is outshooting my TX200 at 10-15 yards.  Serious one hole stuff.  I used to shoot only CPHPs with it but am not finding that the CPLs might be a tad better.
Tune with a e3650 and a small Apex and you'll have a real shooter.
Andy

andy, is the e3650 the same as the tarantula spring you mentioned on the yellow ?  i seem to recall it was upwards of 1050fps with your tune,.........
