Strange that the news is reporting....
« on: November 20, 2009, 01:02:29 AM »
...on how 'experts' are saying that we need to cut back on cancer screenings. This kind of decision only has cost benifits for those who do NOT get sick.

I might be a seeing conspiracy where there is none, but why is the news telling us that the cost savings to other people is more important than caring for our own health, and just in the face of pending health case INSURANCE law changes. Don't call it "health care reform" when it is VERY SPECIFICALLY "health care INSURANCE LAW".

AGHA AGHAGHAGHA GAHG HAGAHGHA GH I am a little upset about this.

Expect a LOT of new ideas/suggestions & mostly bs on this front from the government. If a private insurance company said to cut back on something, - there's be a congressional investigation. Nothing like a good photo op, ....

If you think that is "FUNNY", wait until they start using statistics and percentages !

Like when they tell you that this or that only affects 0.005% of the population :) well with 308,000,000 people I believe that it affects 15,400 people, I hope to hell were not included in this group !

Breast cancer?  No, it is only found in 5 per thousand screening mammograms, not 5 per thousand people.  Roughly speaking, about as many breast cancer deaths occur in the USA each year as there are names on the Vietnam War Memorial -- and those Vietnam War deaths occurred over the course of about 10 years.  Imagine in your minds eye putting up a Breast Cancer Memorial each year.  Further, breast cancer is a disease of relatively young women.  While it is neither the most common cancer (skin) nor the most deadly (lung), it is by far the leader in cancer causing total years of lost life, because it strikes women in the prime of life.  It is also a cancer for which very effective treatment and cure is possible, if diagnosed early.  By the way, did you know that the death rates from cancer are 33% higher in the UK and 13% higher in Canada compared to the USA?

Lies,
Damn Lies,
And Statistics....

You can make the numbers do anything you like...

I do know, from some personal experience,   the recently released information, is a bunch of crap....

It's a move to try and "soften" the blow that this bill is going to create...

It's not about health care, it's about power and "fairness"...

it's a bunch of BS...
