QB78 Question
« on: December 09, 2009, 10:28:44 AM »
While shooting RWS .22  Superpoint pellets in my new QB78 Deluxe the rifle stopped
shooting.  I loaded the pellet, pulled the trigger, felt the hammer work but no CO2.
Had to use a cleaning rod to remove the pellet. Same thing happened on the next
pellet. Switched back to Crosman Hollow Points and the gun shot fine. What happened
with the Superpoints?  The gun was getting low on CO2,  would this have caused the problem?

Thanks

Did the super points load smoothly or did they "bind" up a bit when you pushed the bolt forward  to load them ??

Just wondering.....

Most of them were "binding".  A  Couple of times I had trouble closing the bolt
because of the "binding".

CPHP head is almost like it's skirt and pointed is smaller than it's skirt that's why when you insert the pointed it goes in slanted and gets deformed when pushed hard unlike the CPHP that just slide in. I have tried gamo pointed before and was doing the binding. Wadcutter will do the same if I don't drop it down with barrel pointing down and it just slide down. My QB78d loves CPHP then Daisy Wadcutters.

Thanks guys.  I was thinking low gas too, but wouldn't I have heard
some gas escaping through the breech when I pulled the trigger?

I didn't have any problems with the Crosman Hollow Points even when the gas got low.
