Good Scope under $100 for RWS 34 and 48
« on: December 17, 2009, 12:08:15 PM »
Hi Everybody,

What is a good scope for rws air rifles models 34 and 48 that is under $100.00?  Those rifles have hard kick and recoil.

I have been using open sights so far but you know what happens to your eye sight as you grow older :0

I've had great results with "Leapers" and "BSA" scopes.  One of my favorite scopes is the Leapers 3x9x32 AO.  I have quite a few of them and they've worked great for me.  Matter of fact I have that scope on my 48 and my 34 and they're still holding strong.  Optics Planet sells them for something like $50 bucks with free shipping.   I"m sure other members will chime in with other recommendations.

I had a Leapers Golden Image 3-9X32 on my Panther for over 2000 shots with no problem. I have the Wal-Mart 4-16X40 Centerpoint on my Air Hawk that has held for about 3500 shots.

Hey there I have both those guns, I hope I can help. On the 34P I have a BSA 2-7x32 and it has been rock solid for about $70   As for the 48; Ive only had it for a few days but Ive put about 200 shots through it so far using the provided Leapers 3-9x32 and it has been awesome so far. Zeroed in about 15 shots or so.  Ive also used the Leapers 3-9x40 and it has been outstanding. All 3 of those scopes were under $100 easily. Anyway, I hope that helps you out a little.
so far:
Benjamin Marauder .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x50
Benjamin Discovery .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x32
RWS 48 .22 w/Leapers 3-9x32 AO
RWS 34P .22 w/ BSA 2-7x32 AO
Xisico B28 .22 w/ Leapers 3-9x50 AO --> sold
Gamo CFX .177 w/ Barska 3-12x40 AO

Many thanks to all those who replied to my inquiry.  Based on memebers' feedback, I ordered three leapers scopes plus mounts from PA.  Sam

I agree on the Leapers 3-9x32

At one time, I thought my scope was bad, but it turned out the gun was shooting all over the place.

One great thing about the standard non-illuminated scope is the cross hairs and mil-dots are slender which allows much great precision and thinner cross-hairs.

I have a bug buster on an R7 which works great for sub 25 yard shots, but the Leapers 3-9x32 is on both my R9 an B40.

Great scope.  No returns for me.  Maybe the best $45 scope out there.

YMMV.

Natchez has the Bushnell Sportsman 4-12X40 AO for 45 USD. Awesome deal IMHO.
