Photos of another QB78 stock - with surprise.
« on: December 21, 2009, 06:50:27 AM »

I had a few more days off to play in the workshop and with the experience of one stock behind me, had the inspiration for another. This one has a little feature I've never seen - a built-in CO2 cartridge storage. It's nice that the cartridges are steel, so using six small 3/8"x 1/10" rare earth magnets (from Lee Valley) recessed and epoxied into the wood - two for each cartridge and two to hold the lid in place. I give my wife credit for coming up with that one. This turned outquite solid (with the hand keeping cartridges warm) and once a set has been spent, there is now a place to store the empties. But mostly, I like the idea of always having a spare set with the rifle when hunting. Seasons greetings to all and may your find what you are looking for under the Christmas tree...
