The bar clamp I bought from Lowe's for $20 and two 1x6 x7-1/2" long piece pieces of oak. On the fixed end (far end of the picture, the piece of oak has a 1" dia. hole drilled through it for the barrel to sit in. About 2-1/2 of wood above the centerline of the hole is cut horizontally and screwed down, in case adjust the hole size in order to fit shrouded, compensated, underlevered, etc. barrels in that hole. The board in the rear has a 1-3/4" dia. hole drilled into it and simply slides over the receiver tube to keep the tube from moving when I press the rifle's spring. This board is not fixed and simply slides along the length of the bar clamp for full adjustability. That's about it. For about $25 in parts, and complete portability, I have my own spring compressor that I can take with me with ease.
