I saw this too, on BBC. But every few years we hear of a new Russki superfighter (remember Foxbat?), and they usually have impressive specs. Then we finally get one, and find that they were oversold and underdeveloped all along.

I am never in favor of complacency, and one good thing is they usually prompt new funding for projects of our own. The scariest thing about this one is that it was co-developed with India- so they have some realsoftware expertise involved!
