ARRIVES TODAY... YES!!!!
« on: February 03, 2010, 02:53:44 PM »
It is time to something different and at the same time make some FUN NOISE!!!

I bought this rifle to practice long range shooting over 150 yards that I know the rifle is capable of that.

With the MARAUDER .177  I am shoting to 102 yards but the area is a little difficult to take photos but now with the sumatra

I will go to an small open range  with 300 yards available close to my house.

I will take photos as soon I practice with the rifle but by now the adjustable scope mount for elevation compensation is already set.

THESE KIND OF RIFLES ARE TESTED ALREADY.

THE SUMATRA IS A POWERFUL RIFLE VERY NOISY DESIGNED FOR HUNTING,

BUT IN MY CASE I DO NOT WANT IT FOR HUNT JUST FOR LONG DISTANCE SHOTS.

THE PRESICION TO CLOSE DISTANCES 40-50 YARDS IS EXCELLENT BUT I AM IN A MEXICAN FORUM TOO

THAT A LOT OF THE MEMBERS HAVE SUMATRA'S AND THEY SHOOT BETWEEN 100-150 YARDS WITH THE SAME SUMATRA I OWN.

SO THIS WILL BE FUN!!!

Wow....that beast is a thing of art.  I have read that it's pretty heavy.....but I guess it'll need the weight to keep the recoil down.  With that kind of power it'll reach out and touch something 150 yards and beyond for sure.  Heck....my puny Gamo Big Cat did hit a soft drink can at 100 yards....one out of 20+ shots heh heh....then I gave up because there was a slight breeze.  Hold-over was about a foot.
Gamo: Expotec .177 + Big Cat .177 + Viper .177 + Whisper .177, Hammerli Titan .177, Diana model 24 .177, RWS-Diana P5 Magnum pistol .177, Crosman: G1 Extreme .177 + Storm XT .177 + Sierra Pro .177 + 1377 pistol .177, Air Arms S410SL .22, BSA Scorpion T10 .22, FX Cyclone .177, Remington Air Master 77 .177 + BB\'s,

Stanley... for me the rifle it is not so heavy. (I am just 180 pound - 5'8" tall, I am not HEMAN!!!) but....

I thought the weight will be worst than the Gamo Hunter Extreme 1500 .177 that I owned, that was heavy for me.

Another thing is the manner I hold the sumatra, close to the trigger guard in the metal area the,

rifle it is not balanced at all, it is more heavy on the front section as it is by logic with the air reservors.

In my case I will use it bench rest for +100 yards at the range.

I love all that things of scope moa calculations, I am learning with a practice software, now it is time to practice the knowledge

Just for fun,....

Take care
