You guessed it. Looks like your Possums headed up this way.

Just yesterday I posted that I've never seen one here.  We were out doing some shopping this morning and about 10 miles south of here I spotted a Possum.  It was on the north bound side of the road and .....

Sorry to have to tell ya, but it was dead.
