A gal from church that shared TG dinner with us made it to the range last week. She was raised with 3 brothers and was the youngest. Is an EMS responder. Anyhoo, she shot the Izzy 46M well using two hand on a regulation tgt over TG w/e and was doing the same last Thurs. She was about ready to move up to the S&W 41 .22LR with dot, I think Bwahanna and Martin and Kirby shot it this fall. Well, the shop clerk asked if I would help a lady who'd never shot get acquainted with safety and basics...............well, uhh, (Iwas really wanting to work with Cherish, my guest) but said OK. Got tied up as the gal was 110% green and not quick to pick up........so Cherish accepted when my shooting bud offered his dotted 41. I went back, finished my 10 shots slow NRA 50' and Dave said she was holding the 10 ring, two hand offhand on a sustained fire tgt. That would be better than the 8 on a slow fire................and at 50'. Woo hoo, the gal can shoot. As the other lady and her hubby were packing up I noticed that Dave had taped a playing card to the backer. She ventilated that 5/5, not really much of a challenge. Then he taped one edge ways, I walked by when she vibrated it big time. Then she split it.........at 25'. Found out the vibed shot had hit the bottom, scuffing it.
I mentioned what she had done to the lady and her husband - said they'd noticed. They asked how long she'd been shooting, I looked at my watch.......they about fell over. She is one of those individuals who you can give a list of "to do's" to and most of'em get done. She was smiling ear to ear and I asked what she was going to do with it. "Send it to my Father". Then she said she'd just found a new hobby.........
I think the hook just go set. Was telling my son about it and he said she'd posted it on Face Book, so not news to him.
Me? I got a bit of .22 in before all the folks hit, no 10m Tgt Izzy work, NO 10m air rifle work. Just ran out of time.
