Snow Gate.
« on: February 13, 2010, 12:49:45 AM »
We don't get much snow down here in the Deep South,  but we did yesterday.   I went out in the yard at first light  this morning and was surprised by the number of animal tracks in the snow.  And quite a variety of animals.    The yard must be a super highway at night.    I ruled out the cat tracks right away and was still left with many other tracks.

The snow really gives them away.

Well, here in Columbia, SC, we don't see too much snow.  My puppy was very excited.  The tracks crisscrossing the yard were mostly hers.  It snowed from about 5PM last night until about 1AM this morning and looks like we got about 6 inches locally.

Nice pictures Tommy! Looks like the Cardinals I have around, funny too there are 2 pairs and to see them chase each other. One female is always out at the feeder first thing in the morning and its the last bird around at sunset

Well, his mate was there, too.  But she wasn't quite as photogenic.

Glad you posted the photos Tommy of this areas snow.   The snow started here about an hour earlier 4pm to midnight.  I believe we got about the same amout as you did.   Don't know your exact location but I am about 80 miles to the east of Columbia.  It is melting now and may be gone by dark.

Excellent snow day photos.  This white stuff should be in Vancouver, B.C right now.  They`re desperate for snow....don`t think it`s going to happen, it`s +10C there now.

Get ready Tommy,,,, the weather lady just showed a map of more snow headed your way by tomorrow.....  I'm only supposed to get 3 - 5 inches by me but since we still have 12 inches on the ground in some places I really don't care  :)
