Whisper Converted to Gas Ram

Has anyone out there converted their whisper to a gas ram system, if so how do you like it.

I've had 2 CFXes converted to the gas rams, and they shoot and feel a lot better at the shot, than the springs do.  I really like the conversion and there's one more CFX I have I'm going to convert.  Most likely though, I'll be getting the Theoben gas rams put into my CFXes and taking out the Whisper gas rams I currently have in them.  Yes, the Whisper gas rams fit the CFXes; you just have to drift the center spring guide out the middle of the spring retention plate.

Why  are you replacing  the whisper rams with the Theoben ram. Where did you get the gas rams.

If you do a search of "Air Venturi" you'll find alot has been covered on the conversion, likes, dislikes, problems and solutions, etc.

I'm glad I put one in my 22 Whisper.

The Whisper gas rams are available at PyramydAir, but they won't sell it directly to you; you have to send in your rifle for them to install the gas ram.  The Theoben gas rams are available at Airgunwerks.com, but they don't take credit cards - money orders or checks only.  The Theoben gas rams are said to increase pellet speed by 20 - 30 fps; maybe more or not at all.  If it does, great.  If not, then all my guns will have gas rams for them.

I got the Gamo Hunter with gas piston and love it! SHoots very smooth. The cocking effort is more than the spring guns but worth it. My hunter shoots harder then my Big Cat with the same pellets. SHot them back to back through the chrono friday and it consistantly shoots 80-90 fps faster than the Big Cat.  Recommend going with it. If you dont like it you can always put the spring back in it.
