B25-S from Best Airgun arrived...
« on: February 25, 2010, 06:11:40 AM »
... at work, and I got to play with it at lunch a little.  Nice rifle!  I got the .22 rifle combo with the 3-9x40 scope and one-piece mount.

Xisico has certainly gained ground the last few years, the finish is very nice, and the gun is super clean (possibly helped along by Mike's inspection).  Best Airgun got me my order in just 72 hours  --  you gotta love that.

Not wild about the mount (won't get into it here...), but the scope is a lot nicer than I expected.  I will probably give it a home on another gun, until I find out how XS scopes handle springer recoil (stories, anyone?).

Later, -JC

That mount is better than you think....hook one side and tap it on then snug it down, not really tight just snug, fire a few shots and resnug, fire a few more and if it's loose resnug...once it's tight you will have one heck of a time getting it to loosen up even after loosening the screws, the soft AL digs into the dove tails and just sticks there....

Tap it with a light hammer/mallet, maybe with a wood block to protect the aluminum?  I'll try it, thanks for the advice :)   If nothing else, I figured I could just  put the mount on one of my guns with open grooves at the back of the receiver.

When I ordered,  I figured I would end up with a "combo/throwaway" scope, but like I stated earlier, I'm really impressed with the scope. How does it hold up to a springer?  (it's the 3-9x40)

Thanks Mike!  Heading home to break the rifle in now,
-JC

I echo Mike's sentiment about the mount.  Yeah at first I was thinking WTF  but I "whapped" it and it popped on.   Don't try sliding it on as you risk scratching your receiver.  Taking it off was the same deal.  Like MM said though once on it isn't going anywhere.
