upgrade whisper with a gas ram ?
« on: February 18, 2010, 07:49:59 AM »
Hello all,
I have a new  Whisper I bought  2 months ago & all ready  ran about 4000 .177  pellets through it & it has lost power.
Whould it be worth it to have it upgraded with a gas ram & tuned.
If so who & how much. I live in california in the bay area.
Thanks for your insight & experience
Matthew

All you would need to do is reinstall the factory trigger in it to send it back.

Does anybody have any idea why this rifle might of failed? I called P/A & asked them if the JSB exact heavy were ok & they said they were OK. That is the most accurate pellet I could fine. I went through a few.
I put the gun on a scale this evening & found that it lost 10lb. of resistance cocking it. New it was 30-32lbs now it is 20-22 lbs. Also when I bought it I had shot through a piece of 1x4 pine & it blew right through it a @ 4 yards. Now it will only penitrate flush @ 4 yards.
Its going back. I was thinking of just Having a nitro piston Installed but now I thinks that they need to replace it. When I come home with another should I use lighter pellet?

Installed the original trigger back this morning & took the rifle back to
Big 5 sporting goods today, Got my cash back &
Purchased the new Benj.Trail NP .22 from P/A
Hope it makes me happy. I Checked Bob's site &
it looks like the trigger I have will also fit this.
Looking forward to this new Rifle.
P.S.
I bought that Whisper while it was on display, I wonder if it had been  dry fired  ?
I guess we will never know.
Don't even matter.
