B26-2 coming together
« on: March 28, 2010, 05:24:54 AM »
my cfx is on the work bench so i decided to use my new b26 for the thirty yard bench rest comp. she seems to be coming together just as everyone said she would. a large order of pellets arrived friday with a variety off different lead and up until that night her targets look like someone shot it with buck shot but during my shooting session that night she really started to tighten up and apsolutely seems to love rws superdomes and H&N field target trophys both seem to have the same POI  so switching between the two was not a problem i have included a pic of my target i am sure she will even get better with time but i really thought that at thirty her groups would open up to far to be a decint target to submit but to my suprise she stayed within 1-1/2 and for the most part inside of an 1" with even a few bulls. OH and did i mention that "I REALLY LIKE THIS RIFLE".

thanks     i was pretty excited to see she had it in her to be that accurate and i'm sure she will get better with a longer break-in.

Great shooting:) I have been working with my B-26  and also really starting to like it, you have inspired me to give it go at the 30yd range:) what base mount are you using? I will now try some  rws superdomes and H&N field target trophys in mine and see what happens.

i will say the H&N FTT do group better than the superdomes in my gun though the superdomes were grouping more than sufficient for hunting purposes and the base mount not sure what you mean the scope base is the one piece high leapers 30mm to accomidate the 3x12x44 swat tactical scope and believe me this gun will go even farther than thirty with good accuracy i just took a squirrel off the feeder at more than fourty.

That`s some very fine shooting with your B26-2 air rifle at 30 yards distances.  It took my Gamo Viper over 1000 shots before she started to get shots like that....and I still had to use the heavier pellets....Beeman Kodiaks.  I like to shoot the canned CPHPs because they`re pretty inexpensive but my Viper always have a few flyers with them.  With my Hammerli Titan....the .177 CPHPs works well in her....I think the Titan`s bore is just abit tighter...which squeezes the pellets`skirts which makes them abit more uniform.

Thank you Stanley .... i finished my cfx last night and man what an improvement so this weeks bench rest should be good and the b26 had to forfit the scope back to the cfx so it is out until new scope gets mounted and it still gets alittle inconsistent at times seems to dip into a 3 or 4 pellet slump then pull herself back together for the next 20.
