GAMO CFX and Slings?
« on: April 19, 2007, 04:39:18 AM »
Hi All -

has anyone come up with a way to attach a sling to the GAMO CFX (or other underlever rifles)? I have seen systems for breakbarrel air rifles (Uncle Mike's) but it looks to me that for a CFX one is out of luck. I would be looking for a "shooting sling" first more then a "carrying sling".

Any thoughths, ideas  or info appreciated.

Happy shooting -

Welcome aboard, Raynier, just wanted to say hi to a fellow Washingtonian!  Despited having a CFX, I can't help with your question, especially for a shooting sling.  Keep us posted if you come up with something.

Hi Dave  & others

thanks for making the GTA forum into what it is - simply the finest place to banter about air guns. I have my first gun (the CFX) in-house for 1 week now... yep as new as they get, but I enjoy shooting immensely. That is what makes the forum so valuable the experience you guys are sharing with newbies like myself. I am eagerly waiting for Charlie's GRT-III to arrive in the mail which will improve accurace again a couple of notches up the scale. (It was shipped 3 days ago and should be arriving any day now - can't wait to install it)

I have been to Twisp many times (Winter and Summer time - a very good friend of us has a cabin up Beaver Creek where we go every know and then) Maybe we can meet up some time.

Take care all - and thanks again for making this forum into what it is.

But as far as a sling... I use a sling from my ar-15. Its flexable nylon, but allots me to get the rifle very tight and locked in. Plus there cheep at guns shows.

Raynier, I've been looking around but to no avail. I hunt with all my air rifles including my CFX but I have no sling's on any of them, like to keep mine at the ready right in front of me. I've heard of some guy's drilling and tapping thread's into the synthetic stock's but I never wanted to start putting holes into mine. Might have to mod it to your likeing. Ed

Hi Raynier,

Welcome to the forum.  I don't know of a sling for the CFX either but Jason is correct,,,, your question will get more attention in the Gamo Gate so I'm going to move it for you.

Nice to have you on board GTA.  Look forward to your future posts, and if you hunt be sure to post your hunting stories and pics.  We just love pics  !!  :)

The CFX was my first, too, great gun.  And Bob's trigger  will make a HUGE difference!  Mine went through several incarnations, currently sports a Theoben gas ram and lives with my brother in Sultan.  Don't know what you've tried for pellets so far, but mine did really well with RWS Superdomes and JSB Exacts 4.52.

Be sure to drop me a line if you're headed this way, I've got a nice shooting range in my back yard and would enjoy meeting up with a fellow GTA'er :-).  Later.
