I was able to get in a few minutes of hunting down at the farm again today. The weather is still windy, kind of cold with on and off rain showers. The targets were all of the regular variety, black bids, cow birds, starlings and pigeons. I missed the only starling I had a shot at and had a few more fly offs, but I was able to anchor the first pigeon with the Remington Summit. I’m almost positive I missed this same pigeon earlier in the day, he was out at about 50 yards and I gave him just a tad too much elevation, but the second time around the pellet found it’s mark. The Summit’s power plant is stock and I had a chance to shoot it through the chronograph today, it’s shooting .177 CPHPs at an average speed of 880fps. Which proved to be plenty for this pigeon, he went right down at the shot, which was taken from about 40 yards. His 3 buddies circled a few times and for a second I thought they were going to land again and give me another chance. The B28 took all the other birds and I did hit another pigeon with it, but it was one of the ones that got away.
