Flaming Squirell
« on: May 08, 2010, 03:54:14 AM »
Yesterday,  downtown Augusta, Georgia suffered a power failure that affected at least 6 blocks.   Within that area is a large medical complex that includes the V. A . hospital, the Medical College of Georgia and others.  They lost power for about 15 minutes before it was restored.  Needess to say there was a mad scramble within these hospitals for various reasons.    Now just what caused the problem?    It seems that a SQUIRELL had gotten mixed up  in a transformer.   Despite the serious situation , I had to grin to myself.   I could just imagine a flaming squirell being blasted through the air.     What the city of Augusta ought to do is have a bus load of GTA members come down and clear the area of the pesky squirells.   Just provide lunch for the shooters.

Yes Mike,

I know the feeling, I have a transformer on the corner of my property, ounce or twice a year we would loose power because of a tree rat that couldn't resist the temptation of that big round cylinder up the poll !

There is sure not much left after the flash, just some fur and bones !!!!

Since I began "trapping" these critters, we haven't had any further power failures due to vermin !

If only people realised how much damage these critters caused, they wouldn't feed and protect them.

Hey Jay !

You gotta rememberI live inNew Jerkey, and passing gas is illegal here !

Most areas around me forbid the shooting of air guns, or any king of gun or slingshot within the township or county borders !!!!

So I TRAP these squirrels, but do not release them :o

Flaming squirrel ignites car in Bayonne
By Jason Fink
October 18, 2007, 7:29PM

It's Rocky the Frying Squirrel!

A kamikaze squirrel fell from the sky and detonated a Bayonne woman's car yesterday, police said today.

Lindsey Millar, 23, and her brother, Tony, 22, were both home Wednesday at about 12:45 p.m. when Lindsey's car suddenly started burning outside their 42nd Street home.

Tony Millar said firefighters told them it was the work of a buck-toothed saboteur that had been gnawing on overhead power lines connected to a transformer directly above the 2006 Toyota Camry.

"The squirrel chewed through the wire, was set on fire, fell down directly to where the car was," Tony Millar said. "The squirrel, on fire, slid into the engine compartment and blew up the car.
"They're always coming around here, chewing through the garbage," he added.

Tony Millar says his sister was fully insured.

"It's something to laugh about once she has a new car," he said. "It's not funny yet."
Police said there were no injuries -- except for the squirrel, that is, which is dead.

The Millars' home is decorated for Halloween, complete with a tiny plastic tombstone on their front lawn. Tony Millar said the family will consider dedicating the tombstone to the squirrel, who was not named.

that is really sad to think on bill ,I know it's no help to you but in ohio here we just walk on outside an shoot, if your outside city limit's and a good back stop a 50 bmg is no big deal as long as next door people don't holler about noise,I'd freak out up there, been there several time's & didn't like area much because of gun law's, but had no idea on airgun's, that's just not right, are you the only sane person left in state?I mean I live on edge of city here & while I wouldn't go popping cap's,but cop's just wave at us shooting air, an ask about them & on down the road just 300 yd's a friend shoot's real gun's in back yard(city line is like 100 feet down from me) WOW if you can move on down here come on,no job's per say but we aren't plumb dumb & just one question more HOW DO YOU CHOKE A SQUIRILL TO DEATH!!! I mean little neck's and all but ain't your's got teeth?
