Sniper's Den Squirrels
« on: May 03, 2007, 12:14:31 PM »
Got a chance to shoot this afternoon. Sat in my Sniper's Den (third garage with attached loading room and 10 Meter indoor firing line) and picked off the starlings and sparrows until two squirrels made an appearance. Check out the damage done by the RWS SuperDome from my CDT tuned CFX! Both shots were at 25 yards from inside the garage (my Sniper's Den). Nice to be out of the sun and wind plus the downstairs fridge is only 10 feet away. The second squirrel was lung shot and drug himself 10 feet. Females are mostly in their dens making my next set of targets right now. The picture with the CFX barrel is my "hunting window" that I can open up to about 100 yards wide by moving to the front of the garage. I have an upstairs deck that is 5 feet above grade and when the rabbits are in season, I sit under the trellis in an easy chair with a nice cold drink and wait for the bunnies to hop into range. Only thing better would be to a large caliber Quackenbush in my hands and some large African game at my personal "watering hole".

Excellent Bob.  Love those squirrel drag marks :)

You definitely have a nice location/setup there.  Look forward to your future pics.
