I think I could use a drink
« on: May 24, 2010, 04:24:46 PM »

Sooooo I thought I'd finally get to sleep in for once this morning, despite the fact that I work 2 jobs. But at 6:00 I get a call from one of my bosses asking me to come in. Grumble. So while I'm getting ready my dad is heading out. But a couple minutes later he comes back in and says that the car is making weird noises and leaking some sort of fluid. Fantastic. So he drives to a tire/repair shop that is close by and I follow in the pickup truck then give him a lift to work after he leaves the car there. Doing so sets me back a bit, and when I get back gome to grab some stuff my other boss asks me to come in. GREEEEAAAT. So I do that as quickly as I can, then head off to my other job. I'm just going to summarize that job as sucking today. After awhile my dad calls and says that the tire place called and said that there was nothing wrong with the car; there somehow was water lodged somewhere in the wheel that came out when he backed out. Probably related to the rain/snow/sleet/hail that he drove in Saturday. (Speaking of which, wth? It's nearly June!). My dad asks me to drop the truck off at the tire place (because its brakes have been a little weird). So I take time out of my work day to do that and take the car that I dropped off earlier to run a bunch of errands for my boss, which involves me calling him for everything I do because he can micromanage with the best of them. The last place I went was Walmart. On the way out, some old lady backed her minivan into me and knocked me down. *expletives deleted*

After a few more hours of an increasingly bad work day, I finally got to go home. Home free, right?

Nope. The ****ing front left tire blew out while out while I was doing 70 on the interstate in rush hour traffic. And while I was swapping the wheel for the spare I seem to have reinjured the rotator cuff in my left shoulder. You know, the one that I posted about a couple weeks ago about how I'm so happy about how it's gotten better.

Oh, and I haven't had a single damned thing to eat all day.

I think I could use a drink.

Yea, though I walk through the garden in the shadows of pests,
I will fear no squirrel: For thou art with me;
thy scope and thy trigger, they comfort me.

Do yourself a favor. Give your dad the truck and you take the car. Hope you heal up quickly.

Assuming you're home now, I would pull the shades, turn down the lights, take the phone off the hook, and have several drinks. That is a messed up day for sure. I would compare my weekend, but you win... if you call it that.

Those days happen and it will get better bro. Just gotta say f it sometimes and have that little drink and some me time. I did it Saturday when all went wrong all day I said he'll with it. Grabbed the folding chairs and crappy light and me and the kids just sat there and cought crabs and watched the bait swim under the light. Was a damn good time and perfect end to a crappy day. Little time for you helps alot. Hang in there dude.

After fighting my way through 3 days of Disney with 2 girls and a million other people, I feel somewhat better... lol
Least you should have a better perspective for the rest of the week?

If I had a day that was not  close to what you have detailed......I would think I was dead.   Every day is a test of how well we handle it.
