Oh I was watching Bizarre Foods and I was just wondering if any of y'all hunt nutria? What's it taste like (assuming you eat it)?





Also, anyone actually eat desert cottontails? I'm in the Tucson area and I've heard that rabbits out here are pretty foul.

Actually nutria is a delicacy in louisiana they mix nutrai with pork with cajun seasoning to make sausage I would eat it probally taste like rabbit as for desert cotton tails I would eat not too sure about jacks my buddy I work with who is a avid hunter say jacks have a red meat?I plan on hunting rabbits when I get my rifles in order money situated and my hunting licsence the folks I would ask would be ed and jeff ,harry them guys know what's up

I know a couple of people that hunt Nutria with PCP's like the Air Force Condor.  Nutria are a nuissance in most southern states and I have been reading that they are slowly moving north like in the Carolinas and even Virginia.  Most states encourage people to kill them and have no limit or restrictions on Nutria.  

You will need to make it a head shot with an airgun and move in close, or use a medium-high powered PCP.  Nutria can get large and reach or exceed 20lbs at times.  Many people take them with rimfire too.

I 've heard dessert jacks don't taste so great, but I have no personal experience with that.
