.22 QB78-D Draws Blood

Came home from doing some errands, pulled into the driveway and there he was,,,, one of the feeder bandits that have showed up in my yard recently.   He watched me get out of my truck and walk in the house, but he never expected me to re-emerge from the basement entrance on the other side of the house  :)

Had already loaded a predator pellet into the QB so I was ready to shoot as I stepped out of the bilco doors onto the grass.  Quietly made my way over to the corner of the house and began to edge the barrel of the rifle around the corner when  a large grackle gave me away.  Stupid Bird !!  Well, the tree rat high tailed it for the top of the trees and I lost him in the branches, so I pulled up a lawn chair and decided to wait him out.

20 minutes later I guess he figures it's all safe now and he starts moving in the top of the oak tree at the back of the yard. He was 30 yards out and slowly walking  down a limb at a slightly quartering away angle to me.  I tracked him in the scope and when he finally paused I put the crosshairs on his shoulder and squeezed.  The QB barked and I instantly heard the loud POP as the pellet hit home.  He clung on for about 2 seconds and fell to the ground dead as a stump.  The Predator entered near the shoulder joint and wound up doing some nasty internal damage.  

1 down and 4 to go.   Tomorrow is another day  :)

Nice shot Jeff, sound's like the Predator hit the blood hose on it's way in as fast as he dropped. Stupid Grackle's, they tell on everyone and that's why they don't live long in my (NO GRACKLE ZONE). The QB is looking good laying next to her trophy oh and look at the brassy on her, nice. Great shot and pic's buddy. Ed

How's that QB on noise in your neck of the woods?  I had a sweet one but had to sell it due to noise.

Good account, and a good hit.  The stock on that rifle is very nice.  Jeff, looking forward to more stories and pictures.

Thanks guys,,, I really love my QB's  !!  :)

As for the noise level,,,  the report definitely lets my neighbors know I'm shootin, but they don't care so neither do I  :)

As for the stock,,, when I ordered my 2 QB's Mike at Flying Dragon said he'd go through the rifle shipment he received and pick me out 2 good ones and he sure did.  Both the .22 and .177 have just beautiful stocks,,, sometimes when I'm out shooting I just have to stop what I'm doing and admire them.   :)
